Internal Electronics

Head

The head contains an RSC-300 speech and general purpose 8bit processor. It is hooked up to a 37VF010 128KB Flash ROM that contains the instructions and data (only about 24KB is actually used). It also has a 24WC08 1KB EEPROM for storing voice information and other permanent information.
The 8bit CPU does voice recognition and other interface functions.

Body

The body consists of the main CPU, two daughter cards, a socket for the programming card, and other components.
The main CPU is a 16-bit Toshiba TLCS-900/L series processor. I believe is the TMP91C815F (or a variant with similar pinout and SFRs).

One of the daughter cards contains two 39VF010 chips providing 256KB (16 bits wide) of Flash ROM.
The other daughter card (maked "Mystery" in the photos) is a SunPlus chip used for audio playback (using 4 bit ADPCM), control of the LEDs and 10 bits of sensor input.

Expansion Cartridge

The programming card/cartridge is a blank board with place holders for two memory chip. If populated, it can contain 256KB of Flash ROM.
Working cartridge boards are sold with the Silverlit Walk-up Charger and the Downloader.
