Bender AIBO 1 for the ERS-11x

Bender AIBO is an example of a complete replacement personality for AIBO.

Now with easy to use install

Installing Bender AIBO

You will need an 8MB or 16MB purple memory stick.
Backup your memory stick if appropriate.
Delete all the existing files on the stick
Download this file bender1.zip (3.5MB) and unzip it on top of the blank stick.
When complete, put the stick into your AIBO and start him up
After playing, you can restore your backup, or leave the Bender personality on the memory stick

Interacting with Bender AIBO

You interact with Bender AIBO differently than a normal AIBO.
When Bender want's input he will say "By the way, my name's Bender" and stand there waiting for some interaction.
You can then pat him (praise or scold), show him the pink ball or your hand. Bender will then say something witty, and go on to perform a number of skits.
After he gets bored, he will say "By the way, my name's Bender" again and wait for some input.

You can also knock him over, or lift him up quickly, or use a limited number of sound controller commands.

Bender AIBO is very single minded.
He will usually finish what he starts before accepting new inputs.
For example, if he is in the middle of a skit, you will have to wait for it to end (and for him to stand up and say his name) before you can praise/scold or send sound controller commands.

Commanding Bender AIBO

If you want to command Bender AIBO to perform a certain skit (to amuse and insult your friends), then some of the skits can be started by sound controller commands.

03+Send: Assume the charging position (place on charger then remove)
31+Send: FanFare Skits (place random bootup tunes/motion)
32+Send: Walking Skits (makes AIBO start walking)
33+Send: Gaydar Skit (play AIBO right in front of your male friends)
34+Send: Rollover and play dead skit (says several things)
41+Send: Bender being entertaining
42+Send: Bender praying
43+Send: Bender pooping
44+Send: Bender speech
45+Send: Bender dream

There are many more skits and performance that can only be seen by running Bender AIBO! (and interacting with him if he stops for any period of time).

Learning

Bender AIBO! has limited learning, very similar to how an Adult AIBO learns.
There is no "evolution" or major changes in "personality".
If you praise Bender AIBO! for performances you like, he will do them more ofthen in the future.
If you scold Bender AIBO! for performances you don't like, he will do them less often in the future.

Future Versions

Bender may be updated in the future using YART11x (to be like Bender 2 - only better)
